Electrical installation services for domestic & commercial clients

EICR reports, PAT testing & landlord compliance

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) assesses a property's fixed wiring against current wiring regulations, and is a legal requirement for private landlords in England at least every 5 years. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) covers plug-in appliances an EICR doesn't. We cover both for domestic, landlord and commercial clients — see our dedicated guides for the full detail on EICR & landlord electrical safety and PAT testing.

Part P building regulations & why the right company matters

Part P of the Building Regulations covers electrical safety in dwellings across England and Wales. Certain electrical work is "notifiable" — including installing a new circuit, replacing a consumer unit, and work in special locations such as around a bath or shower — and must either be carried out by an electrician registered with a competent person scheme, or notified to your local authority's building control before it starts.

Get this wrong, and the consequences are more than paperwork: unnotified or non-compliant work can cause real problems when you come to sell or remortgage a property, may not be covered by insurance, and in the worst cases represents a genuine safety risk. This is exactly why it matters who you choose. A reputable company with highly skilled, competent and experienced engineers doesn't just get the wiring right; they make sure the right applications and certificates are in place so the work is properly recognised, not just physically completed.
